Alex, I served w/you in D troop, 2/1 cav in 69-70, lift platoon (Blackhawk 39). Leslie Carlson, far right in photo, and I came in country same time along with "buzz" Bremner and Mike Miller. Are you the loh pilot, when told by the major, to trim your mustache, shaved off only one side. I got that on my 8 mm camera up at song mao but sadly lost it in a flood several several years ago.

Someone in a previous post was looking for Trooper stories. Maybe someone remembers the details of this? My dad, Gary Gransee, C Troop in the picture. The way he tells it, he was on a nature call and picked the wrong bush. He thought it was maybe a Mamba? Anyway, he hollered for help and someone (his sergeant?) came over and dispatched the snake.

Bad news: Dad was badly burned in a house fire on March 1. He is in a medically induced coma at the St. Marys Regional Burn Center in Milwaukee. Tomorrow is his 62nd Birthday and his first granddaughter was born this past Tuesday. Roll with it.

Say good to know your still kickin' Dave. i'll try to call this week. I lost my phone and computer; so all # are lost.
I am looking for anyone that was still in country in July-Sept 1970 that can remember when a group of us had malaria from being with the mortar tubes in a mud hole. It was right before I went on R&R because I came down with it while I was in Australia; thought I had a bad hang over, but the day after I got back in country they put me in a hospital in Siagon or Long binh and I need help finding the records. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I now have two new knees and am feeling better; hope to see all at the reunion. Scout over--Lurch

I was with c troop 69 and 70, what I would like to do is to make a book of cav stories from our time in your own words. From war stories to whore stories and all in between, all I would ask is no last names used to make any one mad cause all of this stuff happened 40 years ago. If by any chance it would do any thing, all would go back to the cav assocation. If you all think about it a lot of the guys have gone and the stories will never be told again and I would like to keep our past alive for all to read. I know we all have a lot of stories to tell, some war and a lot of stupid things we did when we were bored. If anyone is interested please send me your stories or if you want to know more about it email me
